Weekend Strategies
I just got a note from Tamira about weekend food strategies. She pointed out that many of the buddies on the site have a difficult time sticking to healthy eating habits over the weekend. It’s hard for most people to stick to a plan over the weekend because there is no usual regimen for many of us to follow. We’re going to friends houses, parties, and restaurants. These unstructured environments set us up to fall off the wagon so to speak. So greater disicpline is needed just when you are most likely to let your guard down. My feeling is to still do the things you love, but develop some healthy strategies so you can stick to your goals. When you are going out to one of these structured environments, eat a low calorie healthy food such as fruit (apples, pears etc) or veggies that will fill you up. You still get to eat but you are eating less of “problem foods” You can create more ”structure” by planning meals in advance that you will eat over the weekend. Use the weekends to structure exercise with your friends. these are just some ideas. What works for you? Let’s develop winning strategies! and make the weekends part of our plan…
